Restoration of 19th Century Hall in North Norfolk
Parts of this beautiful hall date back to 17th century, while most was constructed in the 19th century, and had most recently been used as an old peoples home. The restoration started with the simple job of revamping two rooms. On pulling back the carpets and finding that they had been covering beautiful 12-inch boards, we knew we had to do justice to this building.
Those two rooms were re-plastered, skirting and architrave was specially produced to match the original, and reproduction coving and ceiling roses were installed. The job continued as the client began to understand the sympathy we had for this wonderful building that hadn’t received the love it should have done.
Over the course of the following 2 years we were recalled to complete ever increasing scales of work including 4 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a wonderful vaulted ceiling bedroom of 40m2, all designed by us and the client. This enjoyable job was executed with precise detail and shows our passion for the final finish.
Attention to Detail
In the first two rooms we completed the beautiful wide floor boards were removed and numbered before being sand blasted off site. They were then re-fitted in exactly their original order.
